Hi Jan,

What a great read! I really enjoyed your novel take on fashion combined with machine learning. I'm a clinical neuropsychologist with a hang for aesthetics and menswear, and so I find it interesting to hear an "outsiders" take on these topics.

Some suggested further reading and exploring that I would encourage is:

1. W. David Marx - Status and Culture (also his other book Ametora for something even more niche in fashion)

2. For more on the menswear perspective I would recommend www.PermanentStyle.com

Have a great week!

Also RTYI, Paul Ormerod et al on neutral mutation theories of fashion, e.g. http://www.arxiv.org/abs/0903.2533 and https://durham-repository.worktribe.com/output/1699559 ; They formalise a stochastic process which they claim generates fashion (and pop songs, and linguistic features):

>In the long-tail world, popular choices tend to become more popular, but not forever, as innovation drives a constant turnover in the popularity rankings. A very simple model of ‘neutral’ copying with occasional originality of choice can explain realworld patterns of long-tail distributions under continual turnover.
